The gameplay based on the classic click'n'point interaction and almost all puzzles are inventory based. The voiceovers are all fine except Tim who sounds a bit... dull. Almost all his voiceovers are done in the same tone so it sounds a bit out of place at some points.The game will be easy for any player that usually plays these type of games and you can easily finish it in 5-7 hours. The story is good - it starts slowly but it picks up later with all the murders. Even though I've read most of the reviews for this game, and even though they all gave it a pretty bad score - the game really is good.However - the end of the game is really rushed. It does make sense, but the way it's presented is far from what it should be for this type of game. Also - you'll spend the last 30min of gameplay just going from location to location in a very speedy way because (i guess) devs ran out of time or money to make it interactive. The story at that point just rushes up till the point where the detective literally explains everything to you, what was really going on and who was behind the murders. The bad thing about it is that most of the info was never present in the game, or was mentioned very vaguely.All in all - it's a good game and I recommend it to all adventure lovers. I almost recommended the game until the last 15 minutes before the ending... the graphics, music, gameplay, dialogues are just what I desired in a point&click adventure game, and the story is really captivating. However, when you ruin an ending in any kind of storytelling, you basically dismiss all the process of getting there.. It's one of my favourite point & click adventure games now. My favourite one is Black Mirror, so it's really no surprise. This game feels very similar to Black Mirror, obviously because it's made by the same developers. Slow-paced, with great visuals, quiet and gloomy atmosphere, I really liked the voice acting too (mostly because of the character's accents). The only problem is the unfinished ending, it's rushed and feels like a big chunk of the game was cut out. I wish the developers had the budget\/time to finish the game properly.. Probably the worst and least satisfying ending of any game I've ever played, but everything before it was good. It isn't particularly difficult but it has an interesting story (even if it doesn't have a very good payoff) and a nice atmosphere with high quality visuals. It's fairly close to The Black Mirror in terms of gameplay and general tone.. Good story but disappointed at end...Slow gameplaygraphics are not too bad....would recommend it. Alter Ego seems like a decent point & click adventure where you play two different characters that ultimately cross paths. The dialog ends up being quite dry and slow ending up making the game quite boring. I honestly fell asleep in my chair playing this game on at least 2 occasions. It's got a Sherlock Holmes detective vibe to it which kept it mildly interesting, but reaching the end just left me completely baffled. It's like they didn't have the time, resources, or money to finish the game so they just make an executive decision to end it prematurely. I'm still left with a bad taste in my mouth. Seriously, that's it?. This is honestly more of a psychological examination than it is a story, but that doesn't take anything away from it. This story has an incredibe amount of replayablity. I would strongly recommend it if you need a change of pace from the normal Choice titles. It is definitely for a certain crowd though. I would give this an 8\/10.. When a series of gruesome murders shake a small town after a strange aristocrat dies and his body goes missing, rumors of a supernatural monster abound. In life Sir William was known to be a cruel and evil man, rumored to be the murderer behind many unsolved crimes. Now in death, this latest spurt of crime has the entire village shaking in fear with some even fleeing. The local police are beside themselves and have made no headway in solving the crimes. Detective Briscol, a man of logic and principles and Timothy Moor, a poor immigrant turned petty thief become unlikely partners to solve these terrible crimes. Alternating between these roles, players will investigate these strange events and gradually reveal a dark secret.
